The Office of the Grand Sacristan serves as the Ecclesiastical Administration responsible for overseeing the liturgical and ceremonial life of the Mother See. Its duties include administering the internal and external adornment of the cathedral and preparing and conducting religious ceremonies held at the Mother See.
The Office of the Grand Sacristan administers weekly services, the Holy Liturgy, and the most significant church rituals, such as the Blessing of the Holy Chrism, ordinations, and other sacred ceremonies. Additionally, Sacristans are responsible for maintaining and safeguarding the church’s sanctified vessels and vestments.
The Chapel-Baptistery of Saint Vardan and Saint John the Baptist operates under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Grand Sacristan.
